2014 Foundation Scholarship Winners

NPELRA Foundation (Anthony C. Russo Scholarship Awards)

The NPELRA Foundation is a nonprofit subsidiary of the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association (NPELRA). The Foundation provides scholarships to deserving graduate students studying labor and employee relations or a closely related field. The Foundation seeks to provide worthy graduate students interested in a career in public sector labor and employee relations with financial assistance.


2014 Anthony C. Russo Scholarship Awards Winners, who received a $3,000 Russo Scholarship:

Melissa Honkola, St. Louis County Assistant Human Resources Director, is seeking a Masters of Arts in Management from College of St. Scholastica. She is a current NPELRA member and holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and is has served as a Mentor in the Northland Human Resources Association College Mentorship Program. She has also been a co-president and  treasurer for the Society of Human Resource Management- Student Chapter, UMD.

Dina Davis  is currently seeking a Masters of Human Resource Management with a specialization in Integrating Functional and Strategic Human Resource Management from Walden University, while working as a Personnel Administrative Specialist for Calvert County Govenment. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in French from Hollins College.

Charles Alexander holds a Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University, an A.S. in Business Administration from West Hills College, and is seeking a Masters in Human Resources from Webster University. He is currently involved with FPELRA, Axalea Youth Sports, and has been a United Way Fundrasier Coordinator. Charles is now employed with the City of St. Petersburg as a Labor Relations Officer.
