Who is eligible to attend?
Supervisors, managers, or representatives of management in the public sector, not representing any union.
Is there a brochure available?
A brochure will be mailed this fall to all National PELRA members.
What is the dress code for the conference?
Business casual attire. Remember, conference rooms can be, and often are, very cold and we don't have much control of that at the hotel - bring a sweater or light jacket to help keep you comfortable.
What time is the conference over on the last day?
The conference concludes at 4:05 pm on Wednesday, April 19th.
If you would like to extend your learning, the Elective Academy: Costing a Labor Contract, will be held on Thursday, April 19 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm for an additional registration fee of $299 (member rate).
Can I bring a guest?
Your guest can attend the Sunday Welcome Reception for $40 and the Tuesday Night event at the Charleston Aquarium for $100 - prices for each guest registration go up after March 16, 2018. Tickets for your guest can be purchased when you register yourself for the Conference. Guest tickets for the Charleston Aquarium event are not available for purchase after April 6, 2018. If you have already registered and wish to add guest registration, please contact us and we will be happy to help!
Will lunch be provided?
Lunch is provided on Monday, April 16 at the Annual Robin Hall Awards Luncheon, and on Wednesday, April 18 at the National PELRA Foundation Luncheon.
Will I receive a confirmation receipt when I register?
A confirmation will be sent to your email address immediately upon registering online. If you did not receive confirmation, please check your spam/junk folder.
What does my registration fee include?
Full conference registration fees include:
- Access to all learning activities Monday through Wednesday
- Monday through Wednesday morning continental breakfast and afternoon beverages
- Sunday evening Welcome Reception
- Monday Annual Robin Hall Memorial Awards Lunch
- Monday Evening Networking Event - Charleston RiverDogs Baseball
- Tuesday Night Event - Charleston Aquarium
- Wednesday National PELRA Foundation Luncheon
- Conference tote bag with gift items
- Online link of all session materials and audio recordings taken during the sessions (emailed 6-8 weeks after conference).
What methods are available to provide payment?
When registering online, you will have the option to pay by credit card or mail in a check. We do not accept purchase orders as payment. We accept all major credit cards through a secure network. Your credit card number will be unknown to us and cannot be accessed by National PELRA. If you will be paying via check, please be sure to include a copy of the invoice receipt to National PELRA when mailing. In order to receive the Early Bird or the Regular Registration rate, check must be received by the cut-off date. If we do not receive your check in time, your registration fees will automatically be adjusted to the next level rate.
Are hotel guest rooms included in the conference fee?
Your hotel room is separate from the conference fees. The Marriott Charleston has set aside a limited block of rooms for National PELRA conference attendees. The special rate is $204 (+ tax) per night (single/double). This rate will be available until March 23, 2018, or until the block has sold out. Please visit the Travel webpage for complete details.
How will session materials be provided to me?
There are three (3) ways you will receive your needed session materials:
- You will receive a link to access all materials online before you leave for the conference.
- On the conference Guidebook App, there will be a link to any materials provided by the speakers, on each session's description.
- Approximately 4-7 weeks after the conference, a multimedia online link will be emailed to you with all materials as well as the audio recordings of the sessions.
You will not receive printed materials at the conference.
How and where do I check in at the conference?
You will need to check in when you arrive at the conference to receive your badge book - which must be worn at all sessions and networking/social functions - and conference bag. The hours for the registration desk are as follows:
Sunday, April 15: 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Monday, April 16: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Tuesday, April 17: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
What if I need to cancel my registration?
We are sorry you won't be able to join us and you will be missed! But things happen... The following is our cancellation policy:
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and received by March 16, 2018 to qualify for a refund. Cancellations received after March 16, 2018 are non-refundable. One registration transfer is allowed per registration provided they have the same membership status. No-shows are non-refundable.
Conference Registration: A $75 administrative fee will be deducted. One registration transfer is allowed per registration provided they have the same membership status.
Guest Registration: A $25 administrative fee will be deducted.
Academy Registration: A $50 administrative fee will be deducted. One registration transfer is allowed per registration provided they have the same membership status.
Pre and/or Post Conference Workshops: A $25 administrative fee will be deducted.
One-Day Registration: A $50 administrative fee will be deducted for each day.
CLRP Exam: A $50 administrative fee (conference rate) will be deducted.
After March 16, 201, and and all transfers will incur a $35 administrative fee.
Will CLE be offered?
Yes, pending approval from the State of South Carolina.
Will HRCI and/or SHRM credits be offered?
Pending approval, each session at the 2018 Annual Training conference will be worth between 1.25 - 2.25 credit hours, with a total of 16 credit hours for the entire conference. A certificate of attendance will be provided to you for the entire conference.
